Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A frigate heading out of Portsmouth harbour with two large first-rates anchored in the Solent by Ebenezer Colls was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in November 2008. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 687.50 (€ 831.24). Admittedly, works by Ebenezer Colls have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A three-decker reducing sail in Spithead in preparation for her arrival into Portsmouth Harbour in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,378.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A frigate heading out of Portsmouth harbour with two large first-rates anchored in the Solent von Ebenezer Colls wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert.
