Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Bird's Day Out by Earl Cunningham. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,470.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Earl Cunningham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coastal Waterways in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 73,000.00 (€ 46,915.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bird's Day Out von Earl Cunningham zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.470,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Earl Cunningham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Coastal Waterways im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 73.000,00 (€ 46.915,17).
