Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Figural Study for Return of the War Party by Eanger Irving Couse was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,562.50 (€ 8,103.81). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eanger Irving Couse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thunder Birds in January 2024 with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 715,783.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Figural Study for Return of the War Party von Eanger Irving Couse im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.562,50 (€ 8.103,81) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eanger Irving Couse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Thunder Birds im Januar 2024 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 715.783,95).
