Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Wellington Park, Jamaica by E. Ambrose Webster. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,300.00 (€ 13,555.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by E. Ambrose Webster have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greenwich Village In Geometry in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 68,731.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wellington Park, Jamaica von E. Ambrose Webster zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.300,00 (€ 13.555,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von E. Ambrose Webster auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Greenwich Village In Geometry im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 68.731,67).
