This artwork by Dwight William Tryon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2007. In the Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Connecticut River Scene sold for USD 67,000.00 (€ 45,615.47) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dwight William Tryon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Newport At Night sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of USD 50,000.00 (€ 47,339.52).
