In November 2001 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale including pictures from the, which included the work Plum Tree, Early Winter by Duncan Shanks. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,935.00 (€ 7,853.14), 41% above the upper estimate. With this result, Plum Tree, Early Winter is even the most expensive work of art by Duncan Shanks that we have observed at auctions so far.
