This artwork by Duncan Shanks achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2009. In the 20th Century British Art including The Olga Davenport Collection auction, the work Crossford sold for GBP 4,250.00 (€ 4,582.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Duncan Shanks; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Plum Tree, Early Winter sold at auction in November 2001 with the realized price of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 7,853.14).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Duncan Shanks erzielte im März 2009 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art including The Olga Davenport Collection wurde die Arbeit Crossford für GBP 4.250,00 (€ 4.582,99) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Duncan Shanks; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Plum Tree, Early Winter im November 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 4.935,00 (€ 7.853,14).
