This artwork by Dr. Atl achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2008. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Autorretrato sold for USD 314,500.00 (€ 247,754.84) - well above the upper estimate of USD 175,000.00. Admittedly, works by Dr. Atl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mañana Luminosa in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,268,639.51).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Dr. Atl erzielte im November 2008 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Autorretrato für USD 314.500,00 (€ 247.754,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 175.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dr. Atl auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mañana Luminosa im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.650.500,00 (€ 1.268.639,51).
