Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Christies in London held the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, which included the work self-portrait of you + me (Gena Rowlands) by Douglas Gordon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,009.15), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Douglas Gordon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-Portrait Of You + Me (Elizabeth Taylor/National Velvet) in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 122,500.00 (€ 94,158.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit self-portrait of you + me (Gena Rowlands) von Douglas Gordon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 11.009,15) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Douglas Gordon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-Portrait Of You + Me (Elizabeth Taylor/National Velvet) im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 122.500,00 (€ 94.158,34).
