This artwork by Dorothea Tanning achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2021. In the (Women) Artists auction, the work Delegates sold for GBP 10,710.00 (€ 12,461.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothea Tanning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le mal oublié in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,440,000.00 (€ 1,341,906.63).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Dorothea Tanning erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion (Women) Artists wurde die Arbeit Delegates für GBP 10.710,00 (€ 12.461,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Tanning erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le mal oublié im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.440.000,00 (€ 1.341.906,63).
