The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,788.00 (€ 4,230.43), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Doris Caesar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Standing Nude, which sold at auction in September 2005 for USD 19,200.00 (€ 15,923.04).

Die Arbeit Crucifixion von Doris Caesar wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art | New York bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.788,00 (€ 4.230,43) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Doris Caesar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Standing Nude beobachtet, die im September 2005 für USD 19.200,00 (€ 15.923,04) versteigert wurde.
