Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,060.29). Admittedly, works by Dora Carrington have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers In A Two-Handled Vase in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 59,750.00 (€ 85,950.05).

Die Arbeit The barque Harmony in the ice off the Labrador Coast von Dora Carrington wurde im Juni 2008 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.060,29) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dora Carrington auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers In A Two-Handled Vase im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 59.750,00 (€ 85.950,05).
