Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Candlestick Park by Dong Kingman was sold in the Modern Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,714.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dong Kingman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Typhoon Shelter, Hong Kong, which sold at auction in October 2018 for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 18,297.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Candlestick Park von Dong Kingman wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Modern Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.714,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Dong Kingman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Typhoon Shelter, Hong Kong beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 18.297,74) versteigert wurde.
