Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2013 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work Two British Men-O'War And An Admiralty Yacht Preparing To Get Underway From The Port Of Leghorn, With One Firing A Salute To Announce Their Departure by Dominic Serres. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,671.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dominic Serres achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture Of Havana, Cuba: The Taking Of The Town By British Forces Under The Command Of The Earl Of Albemarle, 14 August 1762 in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 581,000.00 (€ 690,353.69).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.671,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dominic Serres erzielen.
