The result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 24,408.10) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Other works by Domenico Morone have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2005 the work The Death of Uriah the Hittite; and The Announcement of the Death of Uriah to King David and Bathseba: presumably the end panels from a cassone was auctioned for GBP 24,000.00 (€ 34,811.77).
