Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a man with a turban by Domenico Morelli for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,817.46). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art including Ottomans and Orientalist at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Domenico Morelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A seated moor with a sword (recto); A nude woman (verso) in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,639.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a man with a turban von Domenico Morelli für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.817,46) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art including Ottomans and Orientalist bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Domenico Morelli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A seated moor with a sword (recto); A nude woman (verso) im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.639,25).
