Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in Rome held the auction ARTE DEL XIX SECOLO - 19TH CENTURY ART, which included the work Nelle catacombe by Domenico Morelli. The price achieved of EUR 3,472.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Domenico Morelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A seated moor with a sword (recto); A nude woman (verso), which sold at auction in January 2019 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,639.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in Rom die Auktion ARTE DEL XIX SECOLO - 19TH CENTURY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nelle catacombe von Domenico Morelli zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.472,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Domenico Morelli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A seated moor with a sword (recto); A nude woman (verso) beobachtet, die im Januar 2019 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.639,25) versteigert wurde.
