Admittedly, works by Dieter Appelt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Forth Bridge - Cinema. Metric Space' in April 2016 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 49,165.28).

Die Arbeit Der Fleck auf dem Spiegel den der Atemhauch Schafft (The Mark on the Mirror Made by Breathing) von Dieter Appelt kam im April 2017 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.507,11) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dieter Appelt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Forth Bridge - Cinema.
