Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Couple Caryatide Et Atlante by Diego Giacometti was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 35,878.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diego Giacometti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La console 'Hommage à Böcklin' in October this year with an auction result of GBP 5,122,000.00 (€ 5,881,478.99).

Die Arbeit Le Couple Caryatide Et Atlante von Diego Giacometti wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 35.878,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diego Giacometti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La console 'Hommage à Böcklin' im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.122.000,00 (€ 5.881.478,99).
