In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled (Hope Lost; Despair) sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,036.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Devi Prasad Roy Chowdhury; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot An Inmate of the Harem sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of GBP 20,250.00 (€ 23,990.78).
