Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Swimmer by Devi Prasad Roy Chowdhury. The price achieved of USD 1,134.00 (€ 1,043.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Devi Prasad Roy Chowdhury achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Inmate of the Harem in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 20,250.00 (€ 23,990.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Swimmer von Devi Prasad Roy Chowdhury zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.134,00 (€ 1.043,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Devi Prasad Roy Chowdhury erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Inmate of the Harem im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.250,00 (€ 23.990,78).
