In April 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Fisherfolk on the beach of Katwijk by Désiré Donny. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 11,400.00 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Désiré Donny - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Harbour at night, which sold at auction in May 2016 for EUR 25,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fisherfolk on the beach of Katwijk von Désiré Donny zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 11.400,00 und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Désiré Donny mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Harbour at night beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für EUR 25.000,00 versteigert wurde.
