This artwork by Derrick Greaves achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2010. In the The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 auction, the work By The Sea (Portrait Of Prunella Clough) sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,962.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Derrick Greaves - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Labourers with dog, which sold at auction in February 2007 for GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,684.35).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Derrick Greaves erzielte im November 2010 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 wurde die Arbeit By The Sea (Portrait Of Prunella Clough) für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.962,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Derrick Greaves mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Labourers with dog beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.684,35) versteigert wurde.
