A top price for Defendente Ferrari
The work Pietà by Defendente Ferrari was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2007. It achieved a price of USD 540,000.00 (€ 415,448.53), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 54%. This high result makes Pietà the most expensive artwork by Defendente Ferrari that we have observed at auctions so far.
