Auction result well in line with expectations
The work They've Got the Guts, Back 'Em Up With More Metal by Dean Cornwell was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 23,080.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Dean Cornwell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 115,565.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit They've Got the Guts, Back 'Em Up With More Metal von Dean Cornwell kam im September 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 23.080,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dean Cornwell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 115.565,64).
