Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Golden Gate, Jerusalem by Dean Cornwell for USD 5,938.00 (€ 4,618.86). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dean Cornwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 115,565.64).
