Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Living with Art, which included the work Misty Morning by Dawson Dawson-Watson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,964.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dawson Dawson-Watson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Harvest Time in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 110,394.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Living with Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Misty Morning von Dawson Dawson-Watson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.964,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dawson Dawson-Watson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Harvest Time im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 110.394,77).
