This artwork by David West achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2003. In the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures auction, the work Lossiemouth, on the Moray Firth sold for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,042.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David West - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Covesea Lighthouse, Lossiemouth, which sold at auction in May 2003 for GBP 3,877.50 (€ 5,402.33).
