Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work West Beach, Lossiemouth by David West. The price achieved of GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,670.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David West - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Covesea Lighthouse, Lossiemouth, which sold at auction in May 2003 for GBP 3,877.50 (€ 5,402.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit West Beach, Lossiemouth von David West zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.295,00 (€ 2.670,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David West mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Covesea Lighthouse, Lossiemouth beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für GBP 3.877,50 (€ 5.402,33) versteigert wurde.
