Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Stag by David True was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 480.00 (€ 375.79). Admittedly, works by David True have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in July 2012 with an auction result of USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,233.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Stag von David True im Oktober 2006 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 480,00 (€ 375,79) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David True auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.233,05).
