Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Teniers II could be acquired at Christies in New York in January this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction, the work An Allegory of Vanity changed hands for USD 100,800.00 (€ 92,834.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Teniers II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Wine Harvest |《葡萄酒收穫》 in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 3,645,000.00 (€ 4,071,789.86).
In der Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E.
