Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view of Antwerp by David Roberts was sold in the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction at Bonhams in New York in September this year. The price achieved of GBP 15,360.00 (€ 15,360.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Roberts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jerusalem, from the South in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,155,314.09).
