Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Roberts achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December this year. In the British and European Art auction, the work Piazza of St Mark from the Canal, Venice sold for GBP 302,400.00 (€ 348,353.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Roberts - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jerusalem, from the South, which sold at auction in June 2016 for GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,155,314.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Roberts erzielte im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit Piazza of St Mark from the Canal, Venice für GBP 302.400,00 (€ 348.353,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Roberts mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jerusalem, from the South beobachtet, die im Juni 2016 für GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.155.314,09) versteigert wurde.
