Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work An equestrian portrait of His Royal Highness, Edward Augustus, Duke of York and Albany (1739-1767), attended by his Equerry Sir William Boothby and Richmond, his Groom, along a wall with a landscape beyond by David Morier for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,325.88). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings, & Watercolors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Morier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Equestrian portrait of Prince William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland (1721-1765), full-length, mounted on his bay charger, in a blue coat, white breeches, black hat and the sash of the Order of the Bath, a view of the River Thames beyond in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,984.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit An equestrian portrait of His Royal Highness, Edward Augustus, Duke of York and Albany (1739-1767), attended by his Equerry Sir William Boothby and Richmond, his Groom, along a wall with a landscape beyond von David Morier für USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.325,88) erwerben. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Equestrian portrait of Prince William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland (1721-1765), full-length, mounted on his bay charger, in a blue coat, white breeches, black hat and the sash of the Order of the Bath, a view of the River Thames beyond im Juli 2016 mit
