Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Canada Geese In Flight Against A Red Sky by David Maass was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,218.33). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Maass - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Secluded Hideaway - Bob White Quail, which sold at auction in August 2021 for USD 12,750.00 (€ 10,805.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Canada Geese In Flight Against A Red Sky von David Maass im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.218,33) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von David Maass mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Secluded Hideaway - Bob White Quail beobachtet, die im August 2021 für USD 12.750,00 (€ 10.805,08) versteigert wurde.
