Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The breeds of domestic animals of the British Isles, 1842, 2 volumes in 1 by David Low was sold in the The Library of Henry Rogers Broughton, 2nd Baron Fairhaven Part I auction at Sothebys in London in May last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,446.81) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Low have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work ‘Nuremberg’ (‘No Drums, No Trumpets, No Banners – Pah! How Much Better We Would Have Done It’) in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 22,771.10).

Die Arbeit The breeds of domestic animals of the British Isles, 1842, 2 volumes in 1 von David Low wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Library of Henry Rogers Broughton, 2nd Baron Fairhaven Part I bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.446,81) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 4.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Low auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ‘Nuremberg’ (‘No Drums, No Trumpets, No Banners – Pah! How Much Better We Would Have Done It’) im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 22.771,10).
