Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Interior of Boxley House, Maidstone, Kent by David L. Style was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 360.00 (€ 528.89). Admittedly, works by David L. Style have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Three architectural drawings of Classical porticos in January 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,600.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Interior of Boxley House, Maidstone, Kent von David L. Style im November 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 360,00 (€ 528,89) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David L. Style auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Three architectural drawings of Classical porticos im Januar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.600,20).
