Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Deck Gate by David Hockney was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2009. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 33,650.00 (€ 39,487.15). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Deck Gate von David Hockney kam im Juni 2009 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 33.650,00 (€ 39.487,15) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
