Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Man and machine by David Carr was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,800.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,021.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Carr - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man And Machine II, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Man and machine von David Carr kam im März 2009 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.800,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.021,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von David Carr mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man And Machine II beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.702,52) versteigert wurde.
