In November 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Stones And Maple Leaves by David Brown Milne. The result of CAD 45,000.00 (€ 34,827.44) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of CAD 45,000.00 – 65,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Brown Milne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trillums And Trilliums in May 2011 with an auction result of CAD 278,500.00 (€ 199,963.62).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stones And Maple Leaves von David Brown Milne zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von CAD 45.000,00 (€ 34.827,44) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 45.000,00 – 65.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Brown Milne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Trillums And Trilliums im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 278.500,00 (€ 199.963,62).
