Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Elm Logs by David Brown Milne was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 33,000.00 (€ 23,694.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by David Brown Milne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trillums And Trilliums in May 2011 with an auction result of CAD 278,500.00 (€ 199,963.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Elm Logs von David Brown Milne kam im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 33.000,00 (€ 23.694,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Brown Milne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Trillums And Trilliums im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 278.500,00 (€ 199.963,62).
