Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2011 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Clarke'S House, Late Afternoon by David Brown Milne. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 75,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 77,250.00 (€ 55,465.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Brown Milne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Trillums And Trilliums, which sold at auction in May 2011 for CAD 278,500.00 (€ 199,963.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2011 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Clarke'S House, Late Afternoon von David Brown Milne zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 75.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 77.250,00 (€ 55.465,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von David Brown Milne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Trillums And Trilliums beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für CAD 278.500,00 (€ 199.963,62) versteigert wurde.
