Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Altmejd achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2017. In the First Open auction, the work January sold for GBP 77,500.00 (€ 87,924.74) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Altmejd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The New North, which sold at auction in June 2012 for GBP 217,250.00 (€ 269,007.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Altmejd erzielte im September 2017 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open wurde die Arbeit January für GBP 77.500,00 (€ 87.924,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Altmejd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The New North beobachtet, die im Juni 2012 für GBP 217.250,00 (€ 269.007,22) versteigert wurde.
