This artwork by David Michie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in May this year. In the Scottish Art auction, the work Blue poppies against yellow (Meconopsis sheldonii) sold for GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,263.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Michie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Aeroplanes passing by, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,478.23).

Dieses Kunstwerk von David Michie erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Scottish Art wurde die Arbeit Blue poppies against yellow (Meconopsis sheldonii) für GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.263,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Michie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Aeroplanes passing by beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.478,23) versteigert wurde.
