The »bidding war« ended at AUD 5,287.50 (€ 2,926.86), 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Danila Vassilieff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Newsboy in November 2001 with an auction result of AUD 37,600.00 (€ 21,838.89).

Die Arbeit Bristol Street Scene von Danila Vassilieff wurde im Mai 2003 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 5.287,50 (€ 2.926,86) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Danila Vassilieff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Newsboy im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 37.600,00 (€ 21.838,89).
