Auction result well in line with expectations
The work American Tending The Garden by Daniel Ridgway Knight was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2014. It changed hands for a price of USD 87,500.00 (€ 70,348.93) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Daniel Ridgway Knight have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Coming from the Garden in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 402,000.00 (€ 462,387.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit American Tending The Garden von Daniel Ridgway Knight kam im November 2014 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 70.348,93) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Daniel Ridgway Knight auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Coming from the Garden im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 402.000,00 (€ 462.387,85).
