Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Interesting News by Daniel Ridgway Knight was auctioned at Christies in New York in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,698.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Ridgway Knight achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coming from the Garden in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 402,000.00 (€ 462,387.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Interesting News von Daniel Ridgway Knight kam im April letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 28.698,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Daniel Ridgway Knight erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Coming from the Garden im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 402.000,00 (€ 462.387,85).
