Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Looking Back by Daniel O'Neill was sold in the A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns auction at Sothebys in London in November 2018. The price achieved of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,509.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel O'Neill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reclining Figure in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 216,500.00 (€ 275,397.46).

Die Arbeit Looking Back von Daniel O'Neill wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.509,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Daniel O'Neill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reclining Figure im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 216.500,00 (€ 275.397,46).
