Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Choir Boy by Daniel O'Neill was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,276.00 (€ 3,846.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel O'Neill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reclining Figure in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 216,500.00 (€ 275,397.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Choir Boy von Daniel O'Neill kam im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.276,00 (€ 3.846,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Daniel O'Neill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reclining Figure im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 216.500,00 (€ 275.397,46).
