Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Christies in London held the auction First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Untitled (Silhouette) by Daniel Gordon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,321.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Daniel Gordon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with House Plants and Pink Vase in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,088.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Silhouette) von Daniel Gordon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.321,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Daniel Gordon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with House Plants and Pink Vase im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.088,64).
